Middle School Is the Prime Age for Maintaining an Interest in STEM for Girls:

A recent study of fourth graders showed that 66 percent of girls and 68 percent of boys reported liking science…

by eighth grade, boys are twice as interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) careers as girls.


Parents' support (as well as that of teachers) has been shown to be crucial to a girl's interest in science, technology, engineering and math.
